Recently, Pearson was recognized as one of Fast Company’s 2022 Most Innovative Education Companies.
This recognition is a testament to the tens of thousands of Pearson employees who are dedicated to adding life to a lifetime of learning. Pearson is more than just a name on list, it’s a company full of people excited to make a positive impact on the world through our products and services. Fast Company honored us for our digital focus on products that are more affordable, more accessible, and more inclusive. It’s not what we do, it’s who we are as a company and it’s our way of driving learning for everyone.
I’m proud to share some of the transformational innovations that got us here.
Driving Change in 2021
Last year, Pearson doubled down on our commitment to put customers at the heart of everything we do. Our launch of Pearson+ is an example of how we are innovating to create more vibrant, engaging learning experiences. Pearson+ is the first direct-to-consumer learning platform to offer college e-texts in a flexible, affordable monthly subscription model, designed to meet the demand for engaging online learning. We’re proud to have reached 2.75 million registered users and inspired by the positive feedback we’ve received from students.
Across Pearson, we’re driven to make digital learning better for everyone with products, services and content that are innovative, accessible, and affirming.
- We overhauled our Global Content and Editorial Policy to advance the company’s commitment to equity in education.
- We updated our eTexts and digital content to include social developments and scientific advancements in a rapidly changing world.
- We enhanced our MyLab and Mastering platform with Pearson Interactive Labs, an industry leading virtual science experience that replicates a college lab environment.
- K-12 students gained greater access to quality online learning with our Connections Academy online school program, and new full-time online schools in Colorado, Rhode Island, Florida, and Oregon.
Modern Education for 2022 and Beyond
Learning is no longer a stage of life. It’s a lifelong journey. We aren’t in the world of linear education: go to school, go to college, go to work. We are all learning all the time and it’s our job at Pearson to make sure we can meet that need. As a company, you’ll keep seeing innovation from us and much of it will center around Pearson+, which is set to be the digital future for the company. We’re also eyeing new and emerging forms of technology and thinking about how they can be part of learning. And, we’re focused on playing our part in closing the global workforce skills gap. Most of all, we’re building direct relationships with consumers, so we can learn from them—adapting our products and keeping a dynamic approach in our rapidly changing world.
Here’s to another year of innovation at Pearson!
