Pearson Launches Navvy+ to Give PreK-12 Educators a Clearer, More Complete Picture of Student Learning
New assessment and learning platform puts powerful, connected assessment information in teachers' hands at the moment of learning, when they, and their students, need it most.
HOBOKEN, N.J. — Sept. 3, 2026 — Pearson (FTSE: PSON.L) has launched Navvy+, a PreK-12 assessment and learning platform that brings formative assessment, universal screening, progress monitoring and instructional resources together in a single experience, giving educators a more connected view of student learning and helping them translate assessment results into instructional decisions.
Why it matters: Teachers rely on a range of assessments to understand student learning. Yet that information often lives in different technology systems, creating a fragmented view of each student and administrative work for teachers.
In a survey commissioned by Pearson, 65% of educators said it was very important that assessments pinpoint student needs, yet only 38% strongly agreed their current tools do so.
“Assessment should not simply describe what happened. It should improve what happens next,” said Trent Workman, Managing Director, Pearson School Assessment, U.S. “Navvy+ gives educators a clearer view of what students know, what they need next, and the confidence to act.”
How it works: With a single sign-on, educators access complementary assessments, instructional tools and learning resources in one place.
- Classroom formative assessment – answers "Did they learn what we just taught?" with immediate, standard-by-standard results.
- Universal screening – answers "How do their skills compare to peers and who needs support?" with NCII-reviewed measures and national norms.
- Progress monitoring – answers "Are interventions working?" with clear goal setting and growth tracking.
Navvy+ is designed for grades PreK-12, supports Math, English Language Arts (ELA), Science and Social Studies, and is available now throughout the United States.
What educators are saying: After seeing the functionality included in Navvy+ in action, an Assessment Coordinator from Arizona said her team "looked at each other in awe... instead of 45 minutes sorting, analyzing, grouping, and 10 minutes to make some kind of instructional decision as a team, it was the reverse! We are so excited, and so thankful."
Evidence of impact: Historically, the most rigorous assessment science in education has been applied to large-scale end-of-year tests, after instruction has occurred. Navvy+ brings that same rigor into the classroom, with evidence that its features and functionality help improve outcomes. A District Assessment Coordinator said, "Fourth grade students in our district showed an 11-point increase in ELA and a 6-point increase in math on the state test."
Additionally, in a study of more than 9,000 students, those using Navvy+'s formative solution demonstrated significant gains in math proficiency.
