Pedro Vasconcellos
Pedro has been leading Pearson Ventures since launch in early 2019. Before that, he held global marketing positions and P&L leadership at Pearson, as well as Strategy, VC and Corporate Development positions at Bertelsmann, a large European media and education group. Pedro holds an MBA from the University of California Berkeley/Haas and an LLM from Ludwig Maximilian University in Munich. Pedro is based in London.
Vicky Guo
Vicky was part of the founding team of Pearson Ventures in 2019. She previously led strategic partnerships for Pearson’s North America business. Prior to joining Pearson, Vicky was an investor at Guidepost Growth Equity focused on technology and tech-enabled services businesses. She also worked at Salesforce and Foros Group, a boutique M&A advisory firm. Vicky graduated from Harvard College with an A.B. in East Asian Studies.
Pav Patel
Pav joined Pearson Ventures as a Director in 2021, leading on investments in innovative and disruptive companies in the Education space. Prior to joining Pearson, Pav ran the Corporate Development and Investments function of a technology and marketing focused Private Office in London and led investments and M&A deals at Universal Music Group and Channel 4. Pav started his career as a Corporate Finance and Valuations advisor at PricewaterhouseCoopers. He holds a Bachelor’s (BSc.) and Master’s degree (MSc.) in Economics from the University of Southampton and is a fully-qualified Chartered Accountant (ACA).
Angus Leckie
Angus joined Pearson Ventures as an Analyst in 2022. Prior to joining Pearson, Angus was an Analyst at Adit Ventures, a venture capital firm based in New York City, where he worked across their early- and late-stage funds. Angus graduated from the University of St Andrews with a degree in Economics and International Relations. He is based in New York City.
