Verified skills: a commitment to learning

This week marks a significant milestone. Our digital credential platform, Credly, just issued its 100 millionth badge. This achievement underscores our ongoing commitment to help organisations unlock people-powered growth, especially as technologies like artificial intelligence redefine job roles and industry standards.

Credly’s credentials signify deep, impactful learning. They provide a way to assess, recognise, and verify a skill, learning, or achievement. Every badge contains verifiable data that confirms what, where, and how someone earned that credential. As the demand for precise skill recognition increases, Credly’s credentials provide a trusted standard for both employers and learners.

Danny Seow, a top earner of Credly credentials, articulates the broader impact: “Digital badges are not simply achievements—they’re part of a larger learning experience. Sharing them highlights your commitment to continuous learning and can open doors to new opportunities, collaborations, and career advancements. They serve as a tangible representation of your expertise, making it easier for others to recognise your qualifications.”

The impact of Credly credentials

In a world that is challenging us to build skills at a pace that matches emerging technology, it's essential that employees are equipped with the most relevant expertise, now and in the future.  Vishaal Gupta, President of Workforce Skills at Pearson, highlights the importance of these credentials: “In industries where precise and transparent skill recognition is crucial, digital badges are powerful tools for validating and enhancing professional development. Credly’s credentials signify deep, impactful learning—skills that are critical to navigating the future workforce, especially as technologies like artificial intelligence redefine job roles and industry standards.”

Arnab’s story

The real-world impact of Credly badges is best illustrated through the experiences of those who have earned them. Arnab Sen, a Senior Application Engineer at Hitachi Energy, shared how his Credly badge was instrumental in his career transition. During his interview process for a new role, the hiring manager noticed his badge and was immediately impressed by the skills and knowledge it represented. This recognition was pivotal in building their confidence in his abilities.

Arnab’s story continues to highlight the practical benefits of digital credentials. The skills he acquired through earning the badge were directly applicable to his new role. He streamlined a complex project by applying advanced project management techniques he had learned, improving efficiency and demonstrating his ability to handle high-stakes tasks effectively. Additionally, sharing his badge on professional networks like LinkedIn attracted attention from recruiters, ultimately leading to fantastic new opportunities.

So here's to 100 million Credly badges! We share this milestone with the organisations that issue digital credentials through Credly, and the individuals who earn them. We’re proud of every one of them. Learn more about their stories.
