Every day work is full of moments that hinge on how well we communicate: a status update on a Teams call, a client pitch, a quick presentation, a tough feedback conversation. Now imagine having a coach right there with you, offering simple and timely guidance to help you say what you mean, clearly and confidently.

That’s the idea behind Communication Coach, Pearson’s new AI-powered learning product co-innovated with Microsoft and unveiled last week at Microsoft Ignite.

Pearson unveils Communication Coach

Learning in the flow of work

The best part? It lives inside Microsoft 365’s productivity and collaboration suite, so you get actionable tips in real time embedded in the tools you use all the time. In a busy working day, it means you don't have to set aside time for formal learning or open a separate app.

“Good communication skills are one of the core criteria for doing well at work” said Vishaal Gupta, President Enterprise Learning Solutions at Pearson, “By integrating helpful hints, nudges, and tips into trusted products that millions of people use every day, we can dramatically scale our ability to help people progress and succeed”.

Closing the skills gap with AI-powered learning

AI is moving faster than many people can keep up, widening the global skills gap. To stay ahead, workers and organisations need to use AI to support everyday tasks and build skills as they go.

Our partnership with Microsoft helps make this possible. By integrating Pearson's learning science, rich content, and proprietary data sets from Credly and Faethm inside Microsoft 365, employees and managers can see where their skills stand and what they need to improve. This boosts productivity and performance for individuals and teams.

Pearson Chief Business Officer, Naseem Tuffaha, puts it simply: “We believe the power of AI is to make human beings better – smarter, more intelligent, more productive. When it comes to communication, AI is helping us collaborate more effectively and enhance how human beings come together to get work done.”
